I already posted a bit on my 2019 intentions over on the ole ‘gram, but I wanted to jam on this more in depth via a blog post, because hellooo, writer 🙂 I used to drive myself crazy with New Year’s resolutions before finally realizing that my all or nothing perfectionist (who was prone to fad diets and rules that drove me miserably insane) can’t take that kind of pressure. So these days, I like to focus on annual intentions instead.
2018 was a big year of change, creativity, and manifestation for me. There were lots of ups and lots of downs, but as the year began to wind down, I started to get excited for a new year and began to brainstorm on my 2019 intentions. To help me figure out what I wanted to choose, I signed up for a 21-day journaling course that was focused on completing 2018 and calling in new beginnings for 2019.
In other words: right up my woo woo alley 😉
The course was super in depth and sparked all sorts of creativity and self-discoveries for me. It helped me get really clear on what I needed to release and what my goals are in moving forward. With help from the course, and also taking a few weeks to connect with my higher self (I said I was woo woo ;), I finally honed in on three intentions that felt good to me:
Wellness: I really just want to up level my health & wellness in a way that is loving, flowy, and simple. No doing allll the research and overwhelming myself. No crazy restriction and deprivation that has me nomming on cookies like I’ll never enjoy them again. My goal here is little steps and micro decisions every day with the end result of simply FEELING GOOD.
Alignment: One of the biggest revelations I had through the journaling course was that out of my five big goals and dreams, I only feel safe to receive one of them! Talk about a mind explosion! No wonder why self-sabotage is like second nature to me lol. So I really wanna work on aligning with the energy of the things I want and feeling good and safe in doing so. This one is all about rising up to live my life as my best self.
Exploration: It’s time to get my fun and curiosity on. I wanna be better about stepping outside of my comfort zone. I wanna follow my curiosities and see if they lead to new passions. I want to LIVE and stop hiding and being so afraid of the unknown. It’s time to change my relationship to uncertainty like whoa.
With these intentions, and any goals or desires I have in general, I’m trying to be super mindful about really aligning my energy to what I want and being grateful for it before I actually receive it. Cause that’s the best way to be a master of manifestation, baby!
I’ve learned it’s also really important to not be attached to the outcome, because when you try to control every last detail of what you want 1) you drive yourself nuts, and 2) you may block something even better from entering your life because you’re so adamant that there’s only “one way” for something to unfold. Another important thing is to stop worrying about the HOW, which is really hard for an OCD over-planner like me hahaha. But at the end of the day, the how is the Universe’s jam, not mine. I can only set my intentions, align my energy to the best of my ability, and surrender to how it’s all supposed to unfold. Ya know, divine plan and all that jazz 😉
So, here’s hoping for a magical 2019 that ushers in awesome new beginnings and achievements for all of us <3
